The Christmas Truce

The Christmas Truce

On Christmas 1914 in the middle of a French war zone and despite all odds, peace broke out between the Allied and Central Powers. That same peace is always available to anyone who asks for it, no matter where you are or what you're going through.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" - John 3: 16 (KJV)

Reminding Ourselves Who We Are

Reminding Ourselves Who We Are

Saying we get caught up in life at times is the understatement of the year. So, sometimes it's good to remind ourselves of who we are, and what God Himself knows us to be!

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mothers womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it" - Psalms 139: 13-14

Allowing Time for God

Allowing Time for God

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose" - Romans 8: 26-28 (NIV)

An Anchor for Our Soul

An Anchor for Our Soul

God saw that we could not save our souls by ourselves, so He sent Himself and forever cemented our ability to call upon His Name to be our ever-present strength, hope and Anchor!

"So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary" - Hebrews 6: 19

Uncovering True Love

Uncovering True Love

Ah, love. Or amor. Or liebe. Or amo. Or ast. Or even the feat that is kjaerlighet (thank you for that, Norway).

We have as many definitions for it as we do languages. So with all of those, does ours match Gods?

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance" - 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Family Matters

Family Matters

Family can be everything great about life, or the complete opposite.

God created us to love, to be loved in return and to create wonderful children.

But do we love how God wants us to love, not confusing it with lust or infatuation?

"Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.  The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man."  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" - Genesis 2: 22-24
